BMW Manufacturing Co. will launch its new website, www.bmwusfactory.com, in early 2008. The new website, which is based off of BMW Manufacturing’s previous, award-winning website, will be more interactive than ever before. The site allows visitors to map their own path through the factory and provides the end user with never-before-seen video and high-end photography of what it takes to build the Ultimate Driving Machine.
Visitors will also discover how the site is broken down into BMW’s four main platforms: manufacturing innovation, environment, education and community. This allows the user to learn and witness more than just the building of some of the world’s most prestigious vehicles, such as how the facility recycles landfill methane gas to provide power to the facility, how the company raises millions of dollars for the community by sponsoring a premier Nationwide PGA TOUR golf tournament, and how it is involved in creating one of the world’s most innovative and dynamic automotive engineering graduate schools. Check it out.

The X6 Sports Activity Coupe is the latest addition to the BMW stable and will be available in showrooms in late spring or early summer 2008. With four doors, a flowing coupe roofline and muscular, raised wheel arches, the X6 combines the best elements of the X Series into one striking expression of form. Signature BMW elements are also found here, such as kidney grills, dynamic contours and the uniquely engineered interaction between convex and concave surfaces. While the X6 undoubtedly possesses the soul of a classic BMW, the design and intent gravitate instead to an entirely new vehicle function, an evolution in both sporting performance and capability.
The BMW X3, which debuted in 2004, is a compact luxury Sport Activity Vehicle based on the BMW 3-Series automobile platform. It offers a responsive six-cylinder engine, precise steering and a full-time all-wheel-drive system, dubbed xDrive. With the ability to instantly detect slippage and redirect power to the wheels with the most traction, the xDrive system gives the compact X3 confidence-inspiring handling in both wet and dry conditions. The vehicle’s high seating position, all-wheel-drive traction, exemplary performance, solid build quality and the distinctive good looks provide those in this category with a great alternative for sport sedan shoppers who require just a bit more utility in their compact luxury vehicle.
