Each spring, Upstate South Carolina and Western North Carolina come alive with the excitement and anticipation of the BMW Charity Pro-Am at The Cliffs golf tournament. In 2001, BMW Manufacturing Co. launched the event as a vehicle to give back to the community. And since the inception of the tournament, more than $3 million has been raised to benefit a number of deserving local charities.

Twelve years after the first American-made BMW rolled off the line at Plant Spartanburg, BMW Manufacturing put the finishing touches on the 1 millionth car to be manufactured on the factory floor. The stunning Interlagos Blue Z4 M Roadster will remain in the BMW Zentrum as part of the Mobile Tradition Collection.

Interchange Ahead of Schedule
As part of a 2002 state incentive package, the South Carolina Department of Commerce initiated a $40 million improvement project at the Brockman-McClimon interchange near the plant. Positioned to accommodate future traffic and capacity increases, the interchange construction is ahead of schedule and is set to be finished in June.
